وبحسب شرطة حي غواناك، فإن المشتبه به رجل ستيني استخدم هذه الأداة غير المألوفة في ارتكاب الجريمة. وقد أسفر الحادث عن وفاة رجل متأثراً بحروق خطيرة، وإصابة سيدتين مسنتين بجروح خطيرة إثر سقوطهما من الطابق الرابع أثناء محاولتهما الهروب، بالإضافة إلى تسعة مصابين بحالات اختناق.
